Inspiring women at NKG

In the ever-evolving coffee world, diversity is a driving force behind innovation, inclusivity, and empowerment. At NKG, we recognize the invaluable contributions of our female colleagues and all women along the coffee supply chain. From Latin America to Africa, from Asia to Europe: women play a pivotal role in shaping the future of coffee. Diverse teams bring a wealth of perspectives, experiences, and ideas to the table, fueling innovation and driving better decision-making across our global group of companies. By fostering diversity, we ensure that all voices are not only heard but valued, creating an inclusive environment where individuals from different backgrounds can thrive and contribute their unique skills and talents.

And as we said – we do want to listen to what all of you have to say and hear your diverse voices! That’s why this year on International Women’s Day, we did a great campaign under the motto “no women, no coffee”, where we asked some of our dedicated female colleagues all across the globe: Why do we need more women in the coffee industry? And which woman (in coffee) inspires you most and why?

We loved the campaign’s answers and thought it would be great to introduce you to some of our inspiring women at NKG. Because when thinking of their influence on the coffee industry, you probably all know for instance Melitta Bentz, Erna Knutsen, or Phyllis Johnson. But do you also know Juliete A. De Paula Botelho (probably yes, when you know are an enthusiastic MAG reader), Maria Esefalia Guevara, Lucia Njau, Judy Murimi, Gloria Pedroza, Emily Chua, Deborah Righeschi and Diana Rola? All these women were mentioned by their colleagues at NKG as inspirations for their work in and their impact on the coffee industry. We love this kind of empowerment and support, because it enables women to thrive individually and collectively, fostering a more equitable, inclusive, and supportive environment at NKG for all of us. But let’s now let those who are inspired by these role models on a daily basis speak – our colleagues tell us which women at our company particularly impress them and why. Thank you again to everyone who participated!

Which woman (in coffee) inspires you most and why?

It's your turn

We love to support and inspire each other at NKG – and we would like to know: Who is your biggest inspiration and why? Please feel free to tell us more about it! Should we feature any other inspiring women in an article in our magazine?

Three by Three Questions: EUDR challenges and implementation

The EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) aims to minimize the EU’s contribution to global deforestation, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and global biodiversity loss. Commodities included are cattle, cocoa, oil palm, rubber, soya, wood and coffee. Coffee is a crop that is extremely sensitive to weather conditions. Being ‘All About Coffee’, we are aligned and committed to the objectives of the regulation to reduce deforestation, contribute to mitigating climate change and preserve biodiversity.

Mail from NG Comms: A personal Update

This issue is dedicated to the exchange of ideas and perspectives from our group companies, helping us all to get inspiration and motivation from seeing local approaches that work. It was especially a pleasure to read the articles written by my Comms colleagues Intan, Michelle and Agnieszka – it would simply not be possible for us at NG Comms in Hamburg to get the same insights our colleagues get.
