MAIL FROM NG COMMS:
A Personal Update

Dear friends and colleagues,

as you have seen, this new issue of our NKG Connected is filled with informative articles, a (hopefully) fun game, and some personal stories. While with each issue you already get to know more colleagues from around the world, we would also like you to learn more about us at NG Communications in Hamburg. Though it is of course just one e-mail or phone/teams call, it might sometimes seem as if we are a bit far away. We now want to use this new format “Mail from NG Comms” to introduce more topics we are working on and take you along with us in our daily business.

So, what are current hot topics for us? What do we do when we are not busy rethinking our Corporate Identity and Design, updating our website, or publishing our NKG Connected?

Right now, we are working on two other important issues: we are intensifying our public relations and we are starting our Social Media journey on LinkedIn. Regarding our media relations we started to place ads, e. g., in Barista Magazine and Perfect Daily Grind. Next placements will be in the Tea & Coffee Trade Journal – watch out for them. In addition, we also want to increase our presence through articles and special placements, and there have already been publications about NKG Bloom this year. With the intensified contacts to coffee magazines, we can hopefully become an active part of the coffee media landscape.

What is it that keeps you busy at the moment?

Which topics should we report on, what should not be missing on LinkedIn, about what can we send out a press release?

Let us know in the comment section or write us an e-mail/on LinkedIn.

Furthermore, we hope you maybe noticed our engagement on LinkedIn, where we are actively participating now. We publish news, reports from events and fairs, statements from our colleagues, and interesting jobs each week. With this, we do not only want to get in contact with all of you, but also find new potential NKG family members and friends and become an active part of the (social) coffee community. Find us on LinkedIn and get connected – we are so happy about everyone joining us there.

Please see this as another invitation to get in touch with us. We let you know what we are up to and we would love to hear, what is going on anywhere else in the world! 🙂

Best regards from Hamburg,

Julia Wichert

Interview with Christian Bothe

Christian Bothe started his career at roasting company J.J. Darboven. During his apprenticeship he realized how diverse coffee is. “Everyone knows it, drinks it, but knows so little about where it comes from, who grows it, what a coffee plant looks like. That was the trigger for me to want to learn more about this inspiring product.” Therefore he joined NKG in 2008 and his journey of discovery began. He started at InterAmerican Coffee in Hamburg. After 6 years at IAC Hamburg and a 3 month stay at IAC in the U.S., he had the chance to join Bernhard Rothfos in Hamburg in autumn 2014 – from trader to senior trader and recently COO.
