The first changes start with yourself: One year of Personal Growth Trainings on NKG Learning

Since January 2022, NKG has been offering a range of personal growth trainings to all NKG employees with access to NKG Learning. Currently, over 60 courses are available and many colleagues are taking advantage of the offer on a regular basis. To help you choose your first or your next course, we asked some colleagues what they like best about NKG Learning and which course they would personally recommend. We hope you will be inspired!

With the various personal growth trainings, you can choose from many different interesting training topics. Want to improve your networking skills, or maybe work on your time management? Or have you ever wondered what sustainability actually means? In any case, NKG Learning trainings have got you covered. New courses are released every month. That’s why it’s always worth checking in with NKG Learning regularly!

Although this year is almost over, do not forget about you learning time quota this year! Remember: every NKG employee (with an @nkg.coffee e-mail address) can use 12 hours per year to participate in any NKG Learning courses of their choice during working hours. There is still some time left to start or continue your learning journey in 2022! Do you have anything that you want to share about NKG Learning or your favorite trainings on it? What do you like most about NKG Learning?
The modules offer a very wide and diverse selection of training courses. The changing content makes it useful and relevant to the difficult times we all find ourselves currently. The modules are in bite size chunks – I would say if they were a little smaller/shorter it may get more visits. But, overall I enjoy the facility the course and the variation of topics offered.
Which is your favorite course that you would highly recommend to your colleagues?

Hmmmm, tricky question. I would suggest every employee should take the “Green Coffee: from farm to vessel” course – we ask all new employees to look at the module as a great insight from day 1. For the folks that know me well I have a very broken and irregular sleep pattern so the “The Power of Sleep” leapt off at me personally….sorry for the 3am emails. Overall, I look at the updates and every module I have taken I have enjoyed – sounds boring but also choosing a random subject has been maybe more fun than something I maybe knew about to start with has been the real win.

What do you like most about NKG Learning?

I like about NKG Learning that it is an easily accessible platform, which provides me with objective content.

Which is your favorite course that you would highly recommend to your colleagues?

I indicate to my colleagues the training category “Productivity and Organization”, especially the course “Stick to the plan” which emphasizes the power of self-discipline.

What do you like most about NKG Learning?
It is an easy-to-use platform and has a variety of courses that facilitate our understanding and help us develop our skills to work as a team and how to rest to arrive in optimal conditions to our workplace. I like the involvement to be sustainable and environmentally friendly companies. NKG Learning educates us on how to get better feedback among all our colleagues to constantly improve.
Which is your favorite course that you would highly recommend to your colleagues?

Difficult question because they all leave a teaching and help, but I choose “Engage ‘Em” because it awakened in us that passion, commitment and desire to get involved with the company and reinforce that sense of belonging. So if you have not taken it I recommend it! I congratulate NKG for always being innovative and for being one step ahead, thanks to this platform we can be updated and trained every day.

What do you like most about NKG Learning?
What I like most about NKG Learning are the teaching aids like animations, pictorial presentations, and real case studies with practical ideologies in our day-to-day tasks. The training content also enhances psychomotor ability as well as professional skills. The feeling that comes with accomplishing a unit encourages you to go for more.
Which is your favorite course that you would highly recommend to your colleagues?

My favorite course is “Keep Your Eyes on the Goal” and am highly recommending it to all my colleagues.

Coffee Knowledge Trainings

Our Coffee Knowledge training series on green coffee topics is intended to give everyone, no matter in which position, a basic understanding of all areas of the coffee trade.
The first installment of this series, which is already available on NKG Learning, covers aspects of coffee in the producing country, such as farming and processing methods.
In future installments we will continue along this journey of coffee, looking at different processes, departments and people involved in getting coffee from seed to cup in today’s business world. The next Coffee Knowledge course will be released in the beginning of 2023. Stay tuned!

How are you right now, as we are approaching the end of this year? After the last quite intense years, we were probably all hoping for a calmer one – which we unfortunately did not get. All this bad news and struggles can feel a bit overwhelming at times. We hope that you made it through this year as best as you can, and that you are content with where you are right now and with what you have achieved! We have to say we really are. In the context of so many crises, it is not always easy to find the right words, which (obviously) is what we are trying to do in our daily business at NG Comms. Thus, we are very happy with what we have accomplished, and instead of resuming what was going on in the world (and of course affecting us at NKG as well), we would like to focus on the good news to end this year with.
