THE HUMAN TOUCH

Interview with

Gökhan Kücük

Gökhan Kücük became part of NKG a little more than a year ago as a Senior Controller at Neumann Gruppe Hamburg. Coffee for him was not really a “love at first sip”, but the strong Turkish Mocca Gökhan tried from his parents nevertheless initiated his passion for our product. Here at NKG, he especially likes the supportive environment and the openness from all colleagues around him.
“Spending time with my kids is the ultimate joy. Every moment is a precious opportunity to create memories, laugh together, and witness their growth.”

How do you relax best after a busy day at work?

Spending time with my kids is the ultimate joy. Every moment is a precious opportunity to create memories, laugh together, and witness their growth. From playful adventures to heartfelt conversations, these shared experiences fill my heart with love and remind me of the beautiful bond we share. Sharing these moments with my children is the highlight of my day.

What is the most beautiful place you have ever been to?

Cape Town and its surrounding areas are a true paradise. From the majestic Table Mountain to the pristine beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the natural beauty is impressive. The vibrant cityscape, diverse culture, and world-class cuisine add to its fascination. Whether exploring the lush winelands or basking in the stunning sunsets at Camps Bay, it offers a breathtaking experience that captivates the senses and leaves a mark on the soul.

What would you do if you won one million in the lottery?

Winning one million in the lottery would be a great leap forward. Investing half in real estate would secure my future, while donating a quarter would make a positive impact. The remaining quarter would be a well-deserved chance to enjoy experiences, travel, and create lasting memories.

What are you most grateful for in your life?

I am really grateful for the incredible gifts that grace my life. My children are the embodiment of pure love, bringing immeasurable joy and reminding me of life’s true wonders. Good health blesses me with vitality, enabling me to embrace each day with energy and enthusiasm. And my supportive wife is my rock, offering unwavering love, understanding, and partnership in every endeavor. The gratitude I feel for these blessings is a constant source of inspiration and deep fulfillment.

How do you make your coffee at home (capsules, pads, filter, bean-to-cup coffee machine)?

It always depends on my available time. During the week, I usually drink capsuled coffee, but on weekends, when you can start the day in a more relaxed way, I also like to take the time for a french press.

What makes you laugh a lot?
Situations where you should not laugh, a good podcast or my kids.
What would you try if you know you can only succeed?
I would play the lottery.
What is the most important thing to do on your bucket list and why?

Crossing Africa in a off-road vehicle is the top thing to do on my bucket list, an extraordinary journey of discovery and transformation. It’s a trip that promises to immerse me in diverse cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and wildlife wonders. From the vast Sahara desert to the lush savannahs, I would be able to witness the raw beauty and resilience of this captivating continent. It would be an opportunity to challenge my limits, broaden my perspectives, and create lifelong memories. Crossing Africa is not just a dream; it’s a profound desire to embrace the untamed spirit of adventure and uncover the tapestry of humanity and nature.

“I am really grateful for the incredible gifts in my life – good health, my wife and my children.”

NKG Holding “who is who”: Introducing NG Coaching

Neumann Gruppe in Hamburg consists of departments with a diverse variety of functions and competencies, which both serve the general strategic orientation of NKG and provide specific support for the group companies. Some departments and services are already known to many, while others have been working more in the background. We would like to use our NKG Connected to close this gap and have therefore initiated the “who is who” series. Here, we want to look at what competencies exist in the holding company, for whom these could be helpful and interesting, who is responsible for what, and a lot more.
