In 2020, NKG Stockler moved their head offices from Santos to Varginha, Brazil, the so-called “heart of coffee”.
Günter Häusler, General Manager of NKG Stockler, and his team additionally prefer the headquarters’ new location due to the proximity to the farmers and cooperatives, because it enables stronger collaboration.
Although Varginha is associated with an UFO incident in 1996, we have heard nothing more about extraterrestrial cooperation.
We understand that everyone can hardly wait to see the renovated and converted buildings. Mario Ferreira, Controller at NKG Stockler, is now fortunately showing us these in a virtual tour of the site.
When entering NKG Stockler’s office building, one walks into the new reception area, which then leads towards the recently finished office spaces.
Mr. Ferreira shows the first floor of the brand-new offices, including a reception, warehouse administration, human resources, logistics, a lab including sample storage and access to the warehouse, and separated tasting room for customers.
A total of 900,000 coffee bags can be stored at the new warehouses. Stockler is planning to use RFID technology here to increase inventory management.

Stockler has built an additional production line, producing 500 bags per hour, to increase total production up to 1.200 bags per hour in this unit.
They use latest technology to fill containers with their ready for transport green coffee.
Recently, many anniversaries had to be held digitally. The 20 years celebration of International Coffee Partners (ICP) on June 15th was no exception. During the online event “Focus on People! How the coffee sector can ensure smallholder families’ livelihoods” shareholders discussed the past and the future of ICP’s work.
Working remotely, meeting virtually, finding digital solutions – these are just some experiences that most of us have become familiar with during the last months. Out of these new working conditions, ideas and projects within NKG have evolved – here’s an insight into some of them.
Stay home – stay safe: this has been the motto for almost one and a half years now. Not being allowed to go out and visit our favorite cafés and not even our workplaces, many of us had to enjoy our daily dose of caffeine at home. One of the few advantages about that: we were free to choose our favorite cup from the shelf!
